Vic: Elephant dream ends in disaster

MELBOURNE, April 19 AAP - Kerrie Morrow's last of many overseas trips ended in tragedy
when she was trampled to death by an elephant in Africa last week.

Her grieving family will be reunited with her on Friday, when her body is flown home
from Zimbabwe for burial, her elder sister Michelle told AAP today.

"There is so much emptiness and distress, made worse because we have so little information
and it happened so far away," she said.

Kerrie, 29, had just arrived at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and had taken the horse
ride safari as an "extra" to the organised tour, Michelle said.

"It's so like her, she lived life to the fullest and was first into everything," she said.

"All we know is that she had fallen off her horse and a female elephant with a calf
charged her and trampled her.

"Not knowing anything else only makes it harder.

"We are not saying anything more about the incident until her body is returned and
we can grieve," she said.

Kerrie Morrow was an inveterate traveller who lived to explore the world, Michelle said.

"She was planning trips in advance all the time ... the only reason she worked was
to pay for the next trip," she said.

"This last one was supposed to go to Scotland and the running of the bulls in Pamplona,"

she said.

The family had been humbled by the hundreds of tributes from travelling friends around
the world, she said.

"There are hundreds of letters and E-mails which have been pouring in as the news of
her accident spread," Michelle said.

"It was going to be a quiet funeral in a small chapel but it's going to have to be
in a much bigger place now.

"She made friends wherever she went and now they all want to say goodbye to her."
