SA: Major overhaul of SA's TAFE recommended to government
ADELAIDE, Feb 6 AAP - South Australia's training and further education (TAFE) systemwas in financial crisis and needed a major overhaul, according to a report to the stategovernment.
Poor management had led to the serious financial position, the report by national furthereducation expert Peter Kirby said.
Mr Kirby said at the end last year, the TAFE system was in debt more than $11 million.
He recommended new governance arrangements while highlighting three main concerns:lack of leadership; absence of planning, and duplication and wasteful competition.
