Qld: Program to catch families at risk of homelessness

Families at risk of homelessness because of domestic violence and relationship problems
will have access to housing .. under a 71 million dollar program.

The federal and Queensland governments will jointly fund the `A Place to Call Home'
scheme .. to provide 143 new houses over five years.

Federal Housing Minister TANYA PLIBERSEK says the program will return stability to
families in crisis.

Queensland Housing Minister ROBERT SCHWARTEN says families experiencing domestic violence
and other issues that place children at risk will be the priority .. as they put the most
pressure on homeless services.
