Police Commissioner Charles M. Mills said that effective Thursday, police patrols have been doubled on Hamilton Hill.
Mills unveiled a crime reduction proposal Thursday night at a special City Council meeting that brought together police leaders from the county, city, towns and village to address the escalating shootings mainly on Hamilton Hill.
"We're using overtime to beef-up patrols ... for immediate containment of what's been going on up there," Mills said, noting the other points of the program are:
